Before you make that final decision have you considered?
Your engagement with People PAYE/PEO or People Umbrella includes contractual terms, statutory rights and access to benefits. Before changing payroll provider, check how a move could affect your service record, pay, pension and benefits.
Ask for clear information before agreeing to a change. The effect on your rights and benefits depends on the circumstances and the applicable rules; they are not automatically lost when you change provider.
Continuity of engagement
Your service record across assignments can be relevant to certain statutory rights and payments. Before moving provider, ask how any break or transfer will be treated and whether your existing service will be recognised. Applicable legal protections continue to apply.
Pension qualifying periods
When you change payroll provider, check how your workplace pension will be handled, including eligibility, enrolment dates, any permitted postponement and how contributions will continue. Ask the new provider to explain the process before you move.
Statutory pay qualifying periods
Statutory sick pay. Entitlement depends on the applicable statutory rules and your circumstances. Ask your payroll provider how any change of engagement affects the administration of a current or future claim.
Statutory maternity pay. Service, timing and earnings can affect eligibility. Check how a change of engagement or provider may affect your claim before making a decision.

Tax code
Your PAYE tax code is applied through payroll. When you change provider, make sure the correct starter information and any P45 are passed on promptly, and check the tax code on your first payslip.
Borrowing for a mortgage/finance
A lender may ask an agency worker for evidence of regular income, recent payslips and assignment history. Keep copies of these records before changing payroll provider.
Lenders have different criteria for agency workers and other applicants. Check what evidence of income and engagement history your chosen lender requires rather than assuming that every lender applies the same rules.

Where TUPE or other statutory transfer protections apply, certain rights may continue when the provider changes. Obtain advice about your specific circumstances before agreeing to a transfer.
